A celebration of life for longtime Lamar resident, David Appel will be held at 10:00AM on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at the Grace Lutheran Church with Harold Baldwin and Vernon Appel co-officiating. Interment will follow at Fairmount Cemetery.
Visitation for David will be held from 1:00PM until 5:00PM on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at the Peacock Family Chapel.
David was born on June 25, 1936 at Kit Carson, Colorado to Tobias and Freida (Born) Appel and passed away on May 17, 2018 at his home in Lamar at the age of 81.
He is preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law, David Willyard, his brother, Abraham Appel and his sister, Viola Miller.
David is survived by his wife, Mona Appel of the family home in Lamar, children, Cynthia J. (Bernie) Mullin of Salisbury, MD, Connie J. Willyard of Canon City, CO, Darell L. (Roseanne) Appel, Lebanon, PA, Mary L. (Lee) Blackburn of Fort Payne, AL, and Dean E. (Kathy) Appel of North Fort, FL as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Vernon (Ruby) Appel, Betty Bean, Johnnie (Joyce) Appel, Edna (Robert) Oeltjen, Harry (Linda) Appel as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family and a host of friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Grace Lutheran Church at 1 Memorial Drive, Lamar, CO, 81052 either direct or in care of the funeral home office.
