Claudine Canfield
A celebration of life funeral service for longtime Lamar resident, Claudine Canfield, was held at 2:00 PM Wednesday February 20, 2013 at the Peacock Family Chapel. Pastor Kathy Leathers officiated the service. Burial followed in the Fairmount Cemetery in Lamar.
Visitation for Claudine washeld from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday February 19, 2013 at the Peacock Family Chapel and from 9:00 AM to service time on Wednesday.
Claudine was born on August 13, 1938 in Lamar, CO to Cecil and Juanita (Dowen) Cameron and departed this life on Saturday February 16, 2013 at Prowers Medical Center in Lamar at the age of 74.
Claudine was preceded in death by her parents- Cecil and Juanita Cameron both of Lamar; one grandson – James Schneider of Alamosa, CO; one great granddaughter Mariah Leon of San Diego, CA; by three brothers – Claude Cameron of Lamar; Donald Cameron of Lamar and Cecil (Sonny) Cameron of CA; by one sister – Billy Christopher of Lamar and by one sister-in-law – Esther Cameron of CA.
Claudine is survived by her husband – Jim “Alvie” Canfield of Lamar; by four children – Lana (Michael) Neibert of Suffolk, VA; Danny (Rita) Whaler of Chewy, OK; Mary (Ron) Manly of Lamar; and Patricia McBroom also of Lamar; four step-daughters; Julie (David) Tabler, Sherry (Dennis) Montgomery all of TX, Donna Ward and Holly Canfield both of KS, by nine grandchildren – Crystal Leon of Lamar; Adam Schneider of Lamar; Sarah (Lenard) Harper of VA; Danyelle Whaler of Chewy, OK; Matthew Whaler of Chewy, OK; Christina (Kirk) Stegman of Lamar; Joshua Manly of Moscow, ID, Brian (Jessica) McBroom and Trenda McBroom all of Lamar, by nine great grandchildren: Elijah Schneider, Xavier Schneider, Pricilla Goodnight, Noah Sheffield, Aidan Schneider, Kaydence Harper, Sidney Stegman, Kolton Stegman and Aspin McBroom, six step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister; Betty Ann Cameron of Portland, OR, sister-in-laws; Diane Cameron and Anita Cameron. Also surviving are numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
