Floyd Cecil Canfield
A Celebration of Life for longtime Lamar resident Floyd Cecil Canfield, affectionately known as Cecil, was held at 2:00PM on Friday, March 7, 2014 at the Peacock Family Chapel with Trevor Rushton officiating. Interment followed at Fairmount Cemetery with Full Military Honors under the auspices of the Lamar V.F.W Post# 3621.
Visitation for Cecil was held on Thursday, March 6, 2014 from 1:00PM until 5:00PM and Friday, March 7, 2014 from 9:00AM until the time of service at the Peacock Family Chapel.
Cecil was born on October 8, 1926 at Kornman, Colorado to Fount Leroy and Fatie May (Minick) Canfield and passed away on March 2, 2014 at the Holly Nursing Care Center in Holly at the age of 87.
He is preceded in death by his wife; Betty Canfield, his parents, brother; Charles Eugene Canfield, sister; Elsie Morrow, brother-in-law; Carlos C. Morrow and sister-in-law; Claudine Canfield.
Cecil is survived by his children; Patty (Allen) Zamorsky of Belton, TX, Dody (Eddy) Bates of Signal Mountain, TN and Wanda “Pete” Rohlman of Lamar, seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. He is also survived by his brother, Alvie Canfield of Lamar and sister; Opal Brittain of Aurora, CO, sister-in-law; Nola Canfield of McClave and Mary Ann Griggs of Liberal, KS, and brother-in-law; Gene (Vi) Bland of Prague, OK as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and a host of friends.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Lamar Area Hospice and/or the Holly Nursing Care Center either direct or in care of the funeral home office.
