A graveside memorial service for longtime Lamar resident, Bobbie Jones was held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at the Ft. Lyon National Cemetery with Ray Matteson of the Lamar Christian Church officiating.
Per Bobbie’s request cremation took place and there was no visitation.
Bobbie was born on August 13, 1930 at Edler, Colorado to Claude Day and Gretchen Louise (Luders) Jones and passed away on January 30, 2016 at his home in Lamar with his family by his side at the age of 85.
He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Leonard Morris Jones, Josephine Faye Dethrage, Claude Day, Jr., Claudie Paul and Elsie Marie.
Bobbie is survived by his wife of 61 years, Dorislee L. Jones of the family home in Lamar; children, Leanne (Leonard) Bermudez of Lamar; Butch Jones of the family home in Lamar and Teri (Albert) Perkins of Lamar and his sister Peggy Stoker of Littleton, CO. He is also survived by his four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and a host of friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lamar Area Hospice either direct or in care of the funeral home office.
