A memorial service for longtime Lamar resident Elizabeth McCorkle, affectionately known as Bessy to her family and friends was held at 10:00AM on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at the Lamar Christian Church with Ian Blacker officiating.
Per Bessy’s request cremation has taken place and there was no visitation.
Bessy was born on March 24, 1944 at Lamar, Colorado to Virgil Owen and Anna Alice (Powell) Miller and passed away on March 12, 2016 at her home in Lamar at the age of 71.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Nancy Gregory.
Bessy is survived by her husband, LaVoy McCorkle of the family home in Lamar; children, Rodney McCorkle of Manchester, NH; Tracy (Jennifer) McCorkle and Lance (Sheena) McCorkle all of Falcon, CO and Michelle McCorkle of Littleton, CO and nine granddaughters. She is also survived by her siblings, Carolyn Miller of Lamar; Linda (Barney) Burch of Ordway, CO and Tom (Carol) Miller of Delta, CO as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and many friends.
Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the PMC Ladies Auxiliary either direct or through the funeral home office.
