Angel Manuel Barrera, Sr.
A Rosary Service for longtime Lamar resident, Angel M. Barrera will be held at 9:30 AM, Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at St. Francis de Sales/Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Deacon Allan Medina reciting. A Funeral Mass will be held following the Rosary at 10:00 AM., also at the church with Reverend Charlie Sena as Celebrant. Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery.
Visitation for Mr. Barrera will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM at the Peacock Funeral Home.
Angel was born on October 1, 1941 at Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico and passed away at the age of 71 on June 27, 2013 following heart failure.
He is preceded in death by his wife Carmen on January 28, 1995, daughter Valentina, Angel Barrera Jr., granddaughter Heidi and grandson Jorge “J.J”.
Angel is survived by his children; Cecilia (Greg) Dowell of Lamar, Osvaldo (Maria) Barrera of Littleton, Omar Barrera of La Junta, Gabriel (Claudia) Barrera of Juarez, Mexico, Ana (Guero) Marez of Lamar, Olivia (Ivan) Flores Barrera of Kismet, KS and Adrian (Mallory) Barrera of Denver. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren other relatives including his siblings; Octavio Barrera of Napa, CA, Lilia Perez Barrera, Kika Manquero Barrera and Alba Nevarez Barrera all of Chihuahua, Mexico.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Angel Barrera, Sr. Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home office.
