A Mass of Christian burial for longtime Granada, Colorado resident, Andrea Medina, was held at 10:00 AM Saturday September 1, 2012 at the St. Frances of Rome Catholic Church in Holly, Colorado.  Reverend Charles Sena was the celebrant and the Rite of Committal followed in the Hillside Cemetery in Granada, Colorado.

A rosary service for Andrea was held at 9:30 AM Saturday September 1, 2012 also at the St. Frances of Rome Catholic Church in Holly.  Deacon Henry Wertin lead the rosary.

Visitation for Mrs. Medina was held from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Friday August 31, 2012 at the Peacock Family Chapel in Lamar and prior to the rosary at the church on Saturday.

Andrea Medina was born on October 3, 1934 in Villa Ahumada, Chihuahua, Mexico to Jesus and Maria Lena (Baldon) Mauricio and departed this life on Wednesday August 29, 2012 at the Minnequa Medicenter Nursing Home in Pueblo at the age of 77.

Mrs. Medina was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband – Joe Medina; by two sons – Joe Alvarez and Raymond Morales; by one brother – Gabriel Mauricio; and by two sisters – Romana Mauricio and Soledad Del Rio.

Andrea is survived by two daughters – Rosalba Colorado of El Paso, TX and Martina Alvarez of Juarez, Mexico; by four sons – Robert Alvarez of Juarez, Mexico; Sergio Alvarez of Pueblo; Sisto (Christian) Medina of Pueblo; and Mauro Alvarez of Denver; by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and by three sisters – Esperanza Cano of Mexico; Teresa Gallardo and Maria Lena Hernandez both of El Paso.  Also surviving are a sister-in-law Martina Pena of Granada as well as numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
