Alfred H. Culbertson
A Celebration of life for lifelong Lamar area resident, Alfred H. Culbertson, affectionately known to his family and friends as Al, was held at 2:00PM on Friday, September 27, 2013 at the Peacock Family Chapel with Reverend Jeff Alexander of the Calvary Baptist Church and Pastor Jose Varela of the Lamar Apostolic Assembly in the Faith of Jesus Christ Church co-officiating. Burial with full military honors followed at Fairmount Cemetery with the Lamar V.F.W. Post #3621 and the Lamar American Legion Post # 71.
Visitation for Al was held on Thursday, September 26, 2013 from 1:00PM until 7:00PM at the Peacock Family Chapel.
Al was born on March 13, 1934 at Prowers County, Colorado to Alfred Chester and Augusta May (Morton) Culbertson and passed away on September 23, 2013 at his home in Lamar at the age of 79 with his family by his side.
He is preceded in death by his parents, son; Alfred Chester Culbertson and six siblings.
Al is survived by his wife; Josephine “Jo” Culbertson of the family home in Lamar, children; Stephanie Culbertson of Lamar, Deborah Luebbe of Utica, Nebraska and Monique Culbertson of Lamar, as well as his seven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other family and a host of friends.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Lamar Area Hospice either direct or in care of the funeral home office.
