Our Mission
At the Peacock Funeral Home, our goal is to provide you and your family with the highest level of professionalism, service and facilities during a time of need. We are committed to helping you make the right decisions by providing up-front, factual information on the options available to you. When you make arrangements with the Peacock's, you can be assured that they will be fulfilled exactly as specified.
Transferring Pre-Arrangements
The Peacock Funeral Home will honor all preneed arrangements made with another funeral home. Insurance, trusts or any funds that have been held with other funeral homes can be easily transferred and we will honor the price arrangements made. If we find that our prices are less than what was preneeded, we will credit back to you the amount you overpaid. You will not have to pay more by transferring your arrangements. We will handle the transfer for you.
Funerals (Celebration of Life)
A funeral ceremony can be held at your local church or at the Peacock Family Chapel. We have the largest chapel in our area and can accommodate over 200 guests. Our family room can seat 65 comfortably. Our promise to you is that a celebration of your loved one will be handled with the utmost care, concentrating on your wishes, not ours. It will be personalized and dignified. We have been known to bring hay bales in to personalize the service for one of our farmer/rancher friends service.
*New* We now offer a DVD Family Tribute. Just recently installed in the chapel we can celebrate your loved ones life through light, sound, music and motion. You bring the pictures and we will craft a tribute that you can cherish for generations. Call for more information.
Cremations
The Peacock family, seeing the need of our local communities, now offer local cremations. The crematory was installed and operational in the summer of 2004. All cremations are done on site and by the Peacock Family. Memorial Services:

Graveside Inurnment Services:
We will help you make all arrangements with your selected cemetery. There are no urn vault requirements at our local cemeteries. Family wishes will be honored to provide a personalized , meaningful service.
Direct Cremation with no Services:
There are times when a chapel or church memorial service are not requested by the deceased or by his/her family. Or perhaps they have elected a private service. Sometimes a family may simply prefer a gathering of family and friends at their home or maybe a private inurnment or even a private scattering of the ashes. Whichever your desire, we will be there to help fulfill your wishes.
Urn Selection: We have a large urn selection to choose from featuring Ziegler & Aims, Aurora, Newmark's Traditions and Options through Batesville.

Operation Stockings for Soldiers
With our communities help we were able to give our troops a little taste of 'home for the holidays'. Peacock Funeral Home was proud to be a participant in the annual Veterans & Family Memorial Care “Christmas Stockings for Soldiers” initiative. Stockings were gathered thru December 1st where people from Lamar and the surrounding communities stopped in to pick-up a Free Christmas Stocking to take home, decorate and stuff with Christmas Cheer. Those of you involved in this gift, received a list of recommended items along with the free stocking. Peacock Funeral Home shipped the stockings at their expense, to troops abroad in time for Christmas. "This was a great way for us to show our support for the troops by giving them some holiday cheer. We are excited to continue this again next year and look forward to another great turnout from our friends."
Operation Valentine
The Peacock Funeral Home would like to thank the community for their outpouring of support and overwhelming response to the Operation Valentine campaign just completed. Over 300 'homemade' valentines were collected and sent overseas to our brave young men and women proudly serving our great nation.
Cell Phones For Soldiers
As part of their membership in Veterans & Family Memorial Care, Peacock Funeral Home is also an official drop off center for Cell Phones for Soldiers. Please bring in your old cell phones to help our troops call home during the holiday season and anytime throughout the year. VFMC Providers nationwide have collected enough old cell phones to provide the troops overseas with over One Million FREE calling minutes. Here are the numbers for 2010....18,692 phones were collected which translates into 1,121,520 free minutes for our soldiers overseas! THANK YOU!! Help us reach our goal of 2 Million Free Minutes by donating your old cell phones. Each phone provides one hour of free talk time allowing our heroes to stay connnected with family and friends back home.
