For Bonifacio Hernandez.......I love and miss you so much grandpa. I remember you watching me play baseball as a teenager and playing softball once as an adult. I remember seeing how proud you were. Those are my best memories of you. I loved talking sports with you. I am so happy to be named after you and my Dad. I am so glad we got to take the 4 generations picture and feel blessed family got to know you. We love you very much!

Dear Rosie, I just want you to know how sorry I am to hear about your dad. I didn't know until I picked up a paper today after church. I wish I had known, I would've certainly gone to his funeral. Having a paper only twice a week makes it so easy to get out of touch, especially with the really important things. Nonetheless, I know how you must be feeling. Losing my dad was the biggest heartbreak of my life. It's been 21 years now and I still miss him so very much. It's been so long since I've seen your dad but I remember seeing him walking home from work. Thank "God" we still have our mom's and families. Please give your mom and family my sympathies. I've been wanting to write you for years now Rosie, just to get in touch and let you know I've never forgotten you and I actually think of you quite often. I remember us a lot when we were little and our silliness when we were in jr. high. Good Grief! They are all good memories though! Well a lot has happened since then and I just hope for the most part that you've been real happy. I will continue to keep you in my "Thoughts and Prayers" and I hope we will get to visit again someday! Take Care and God Bless You Always, Judy "Rivera" Torres |

Pauline, Juanita, Frank, Jason, Tracy and all of Don Bacho's Family, We are so sorry for the loss of a great man. He was a very nice and quiet man. We live down the street from him and ever since I can remember, he and Pauline would always take small walks down our street. He never bothered anyone and he would always say hi no matter if he was walking or driving in his small dark truck. He will be missed dearly. It is just so sad how fast things can change. I will never forget Pauline and Bacho. If you need anything, we are down 3rd street. May God bless you all during this very difficult time. Jaime, Gloria Madrid and kids |

| I have so many wonderful memories of my father that I can't think of just one to place here, I guess I was lucky. So, instead of writing down just one, I will just say "Thank You Dad, for the memories that I have of us just being us together." I will always love you Dad... John Hernandez |

| I have so many wonderful memories of my Dad that I cannot think of just one that is better than all of the others. So, instead of choosing just one I will say "Thank you for all my memories that I have of us just being us together Dad." I will miss you and I will always love you Dad... |

| For Bonifacio Hernandez Sr., my father - Memories of my father include the smell of the sawdust from the cuffs of his pants, bolero neckties, fish fries @ the John Martin Dam, a hat rack adorned with many hats, softball games on hot summer nights, the unexpected tears in his eyes as he gave me away in marriage, and the ability to fix or build anything...I love you and will miss you...Your Daughter Rosemarie Hernandez Barron |

For the Hernandez family and my grandfather Bonifacio Hernandez
I feel awful that I cannot make it to be with my family. Robert and Mama will be attending services and hugs from them will have to do. My most vivid memory of Grandpa was our visit to Lamar with the boys and mama when I was about 9. I had been playing in the yard and came into the kitchen where Grandpa was sitting cutting into a cucumber fresh from his garden. He offered some to me, lightly salted on a very thick slice! It smelled so wonderful and tasted so good...up until that point I didn't like cucumbers. That's my favorite memory. Sitting alone in the kitchen with my grandpa sharing a cucmber until it was all done:) I love you all! and I send my love Catherine Barron (little rosi)
My Dad also wanted to share his condolences with the family.... "Pauline, Richard, Juanita, Anita, Ben, Rose and John: I am so sorry to hear of Bonifacio’s death. I know that each of you brought him a lot of joy throughout the years. I remember him so happy at the kitchen table eating fresh chiles, beans and those hot-off-the-placa tortillos with sweat running down his face. I know that Bonifacio had a hard childhood, but also that he worked hard his entire life to support his large family—I admired him very much for that. Please extend my condolences to all the grandchildren as well. Take care. Bob" |
