Maudeane Harris

Maudeane “Deane” Harris was born on March 25, 1934 in Hereford, Texas to Johnnie and Iva Williams Kemp, and passed away on December 9, 2008 at Prowers Medical Center, Lamar, Colorado at the age of 74.

Maudeane was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister, Ivalene Tixier.

She is survived by her daughter, Sharlene Martinez of Pecos, Texas, and her son, Buford Harris of Mesilla, New Mexico, three granddaughters and one grandson.  Also surviving is one brother, J. W. Kemp of Lamar.

Deane was employed at Valley State Bank and then worked for Neoplan as a cook until her retirement.  She will be remembered for the many good lunches she prepared for the men who built the buses.  She will be missed by her family.

At her request, she was cremated at the Arkansas Valley Crematory and no services were held.  Final disposition will be at a later date at the Masonic Cemetery in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
