Louise Forney
A Funeral Liturgy for Louise Forney of Mound City, Missouri and longtime resident of Lamar, Colorado were held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at St. Francis De Sales/Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Deacons Henry Wertin and Allan Medina officiating. A Rite of Committal was held at 10:00 AM, Friday, December 11, 2009 at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Mound City, Missouri.
Per Ms. Forney’s request there will be no public visitation.
Mildred Louise Forney was born January 30 1918 to Roy and Effie (Totten) Munkres in Blair Hollow near Mound City, Missouri. She passed away on December 6, 2009 at Prowers Medical Center at the age of 91.
She is survived by her daughter Sue (Dean) Travis of Scottsdale, AZ and a son; Phil (Mary Frances) Forney of Lamar. She is also survived by her granddaughters; Kerri (Michael) Travis-Coulter, Sherri (Jim) Travis-Fleetwood and Nikki (Joel) Travis-Powell, grandsons; Tim Travis, Kevin (Annissia) Forney and Craig Forney as well as 10 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
Louise is preceded in death by her husband Don Forney, parents, her sister Alta Vest, brother-in-law, Dick Vest and her infant grandson, Scott Travis.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of the Peacock Funeral Home.
