A Celebration of life for lifelong Lamar resident, Bryson L. Schemahorn was held at 10:00AM, July 15, 2010 at the Lamar Christian Church with Ray Matteson officiating. Interment followed at Fairmount Cemetery with military honors under the auspices of Ft. Carson Honor Team and the Charger Company, 2nd Battalion, 3rd Infantry Regiment (3rd Stryker Brigade Combat Team) of Ft. Lewis, Tacoma, Washington.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 from 1:00PM until 7:00PM at the Peacock Family Chapel.
Bryson was born on February 25, 1982 at Lamar , Colorado to Steve and Sherri (Myers) Schem
ahorn. Bryson lost his courageous battle with cancer on July 10, 2010 at his home, with his family by his side at the age of 28.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Glenn and Marie Schemahorn.
Bryson is survived by his parents; Steve and Sherri Schemahorn of the family home in May Valley, siblings; Scott (Kristin) Schemahorn of Little Rock, Arkansas and Megan (Eric) Donahue of Johnstown, Colorado, nephew; Greysen Schemahorn of Little Rock, Arkansas, and maternal grandparents; Eldon and Dorothy Myers of Lamar. His aunts and uncles; Robert “Bob” Schemahorn and Linda and Ron Mulberry all of Lamar, Randy (Judy) Myers of Montrose, CO and Rod (Eula) Myers of Wiley as well as numerous cousins, great aunts and uncles, army brothers and a host of friends also survive.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Lamar Area Hospice and/or Bryson Schemahorn Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home office.

One look into his large,deep eyes, and you knew you were in the presence of someone special. He was so handsome. I was so fortunate to care for Bryson during his personal struggle with cancer. He was determined to make a leap of faith that only a brave soul can. Steve and Sherri were so devoted and encouraged Bryson in so many ways. He was truly blessed to be surrounded by love, compassion and humor. I will miss him with all my heart.
