Mary A. Alonzo
A Funeral Mass for lifelong Lamar Resident, Mary A. Alonzo was held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, July 31, 2010 at the St. Francis De Sales/Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Reverend Damasus Okoro officiating. A Rosary Service was held prior to the Mass at 9:15AM. The Rite of Committal followed the Mass at Riverside Cemetery .
Visitation was held on Friday, July 30, 2010 from 1:00PM until 7:00PM at the Peacock Family Chapel.
Mary was born on November 23, 1922 at Lamar , Colorado to Jacinto and Fernanda (Marquez) Torrez and passed a
way on July 26, 2010 at her daughter’s home in Lamar with her family by her side at the age of 87.
She is preceded in death by her husband; Alex Alonzo, parents, infant children; Bobby and Lily Ann Alonzo, great-granddaughter; Alejandra Rae Jaime, siblings; Carmen Grajeda, Frank Torrez, Pete Torrez, Tony Torrez, Leo Torrez, Manuel Torrez and Luis Torrez.
Mary is survived by her children; Maria (Julian) Jaime of Wiley, Dolores (Robert) Fernandez of Brighton, CO, John Alonzo of Denver, CO, Alex (Estella) Alonzo of Falcon, CO, Manuel (Eleanor) Alonzo of Colorado Springs, CO, Pearl (Ron) Clausen of Lamar, Victor (Kim) Alonzo of Scottsdale, AZ, and Carmen (James) Hiner of Lamar. Seventeen grandchildren, 20 great-grand children also survive.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Lamar Area Hospice either direct or in care of the Peacock Funeral Home.
