Jesse Hernandez
A Funeral Mass for lifelong Lamar resident, Jesse Hernandez was held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at the St. Francis De Sales/Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Reverend Martin Frias as celebrant. An Evening Rosary Service was held at 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, March 18, 2008 with Deacon Henry Wertin officiating. A Rite of Committal followed the Mass at Riverside Cemetery.
Mr. Hernandez was born on February 1, 1931 at Lamar to Richard and Anita (Betancourt) Hernandez and passed away on March 16, 2008 at the St. Francis Health Care Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado at the age of 77.
Jesse is preceded in death by his son Robert Lee Hernandez, brother Enideno Hernandez, cousin Joe Betancourt, his sister Mary Chavira and his uncle and aunt; Paul and Carlotta Betancourt.
He is survived by his wife Dora Hernandez of the family home in Lamar, parents, children; Jesse (Sharon) Hernandez, Jr. of Manassa, CO, Priscilla (Joe) Marquez of Lamar, Jim (Connie) Hernandez, Ed Hernandez, Pat (Veronica) Hernandez all of Denver, CO and Lisa (Randy) Alba of Lamar. Jesse is also survived by his 17 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, brother Bonifacio (Pauline) Hernandez of Lamar as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the St. Francis De Sales/Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church either direct or in care of the funeral home office.
