Margaret Duarte

A Funeral Mass for lifetime Lamar resident, Margaret Duarte was held at 10:00AM on Friday, August 27, 2010 at the St. Francis de Sales/ Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Damasus Okoro as celebrant and Father Charlie Sena as co-celebrant. A Rosary Service was held prior to the Mass on Friday at 9:30 AM with Deacon Henry Wertin reciting. A Rite of Committal followed the Mass at Fairmount Cemetery.
Visitation was held on Thursday, August 26, 2010 from 1:00PM until 7:00PM at the Peacock Family Chapel.
Margaret was born on July 29, 1937 at Lamar, Colorado to Pete and Antonia (Ontiveros) Torrez and passed away at her in home in Lamar, with her family by her side on August 23, 2010 at the age of 73.
She is preceded in death by her parents, infant son; Richard Joseph Duarte, sister; Bessie Torrez and brother; Anthony John “A.J.” Torrez.
Margaret is survived by her husband; Jesse Duarte of the family home in Lamar, children; Michael (Valerie)
Duarte of Houston, Texas, Susan (Jaime) Varela of Guymon, OK and Carmen (Craig) Grudt of Lamar as well as her grandchildren; Sarah, Phillip, Rachael, Stephanie, Adam, Joseph and Michael and four great-grandchildren; Emily, Elena, Aiden and Nicholas. She is also survived by her siblings; Manuel (Betty) Torrez of Greeley, CO, Florence Torrez of Las Vegas, NV, Jessie (Robbie) Torrez of Peyton, CO, Alice Crespin of Hasty and Mary Jane (Tom) Torres of Lamar, numerous other family and friends also survive.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Lamar Area Hospice either direct or in care of the funeral home office.

My heartfelt condolences to the family of Margaret Duarte...in my eyes Margaret was a beautiful and classy lady...Duarte's and Campos family go back a long way and have had alot of respect between us. Margaret was always very receptive to all of my family and I thank her for being that special person. Jesse and family I pray that God will give you peace at this time of sorrow.
